The Rape of Rutland

Edith Weston is a small country village of 300 houses overlooking Rutland Water. The MoD are selling St George’s Barracks and proposing building 3570 houses on the site in the village. This will represent 30% of current Rutland the county. The development will overwhelm the area, drive away the Ospreys who breed down the road and create a new town out of a current small country village. We propose limiting the project to 300 houses which is more suitable for the site.
