Justice for Karl! Support Paid Parental Leave in the U.S.!

On July 13th, 2015, a 3-month-old baby named Karl died on his first day of daycare. His mother Amber feared leaving him at daycare at such a young age, but she and her husband felt they couldn't afford to take time off from work. Amber's employer didn't offer paid parental leave after three months.

Quitting her job would have meant losing her family's health care package. Her husband, a contractor, had no insurance of his own. But if he quit his job to stay home with Karl, the family wouldn't make enough income.

No family should have to choose between leaving their young babies in a stranger's care and losing their jobs. Please sign the petition to urge lawmakers to pass legislation to extend paid parental leave to six months!

We, the undersigned, are concerned that employers aren't giving mothers enough time to spend with their new babies.
