Stop the Clown Emoji
Apple has created some wonderful emojis to make expressing ourselves over text more meaningful, and personal.
The Clown emoji is one step too far.
An estimated 12% of the population suffers from Coulrophobia, or the fear of clowns. An estimated 60% suffers from feeling uncomfortable around clowns. The iPhone makes up over 50% of the smartphone usage in Canada and the US combined. By these numbers, over 1/3 of the population is uncomfortable or 'creeped out' by a clown hiding in their emojis. At least 6% of iPhone users now could be completely afraid to use their emoji keyboard.
Apple must put an end to this, and put an end to terrorizing its consumers. The COO Jeff Williams must be held responsible for this new emoji unleashed into the unsuspecting world.
