Encourage the CDC to Remain Strong in the Face of RFK Jr's War on Science

As we all know, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. - the current Secretary for Health and Human Services (HHS) in the U.S. - hates vaccines and, more generally, scientific integrity. Despite his own family being vaccinated, he continues to peddle misinformation about these life-saving preventive treatments. Recently, he announced that the government will no longer recommend coronavirus vaccines for healthy children - even though vaccines help make sure children don't spread infectious diseases to unhealthy kids, adults, and the elderly.

Luckily, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) isn't following his lead. It has bravely continued to follow the science, and continued to do the right thing: recommend that healthy children receive the vaccine, as long as their individual doctors approve.

Help us thank the CDC for its dedication to providing responsible medical guidelines, and urge it to continue to stand strong! Sign the petition!

The CDC and the HHS are supposed to provide expert medical guidance to doctors and other clinicians all around the country. The Trump administration's constant mixed messaging and change in directions has pushed many doctors into a state of confusion about what the best expert advice actually is.

Even worse, Secretary Kennedy's reckless announcement was not even based on expert knowledge. It was based on his superstitions that he has harbored for years that have no basis in facts or logic. After his announcement, multiple doctors' associations pointed out that "it undermined public trust in vaccination policy and understated the dangers of covid."

That's why it's so important for the CDC to not play into this game of constantly shifting landscapes that are based on personal whims instead of scientific research.

Covid continues to infect, seriously harm, and even kill people to this day, though the initial waves of the pandemic are several years in the past. Federal agencies need to be doing their best to protect the public - not to confuse them.

Sign the petition to congratulate the CDC on continuing to base its recommendations on science instead of superstition. We must encourage it to continue following this path of reason, and to not succumb to Trump's anti-science agenda!
