Chemical muds are pumped into oil rig wells under pressure, displacing oil and gas reserves, These muds travel vertically AND horizontally, They travel along rock strata, contaminating every integral layer and seeping into the water table, a hidden catastrophe, undetected until water needed for crops, human, livestock consumption, crop irrigation and more, is found to be unfit for any use. Ponds of used muds are left on the surface; sometimes efforts are made to 'dispose' of this poison in holding ponds away from drilling sites. I KNOW OF THIS BECAUSE I innocently transported tanker truckloads of this mud, before I woke to the irreversible damage this work caused, and resigned my oilfield job. I deeply regret having contributed to the desecration of our water, land and wildlife. The sooner all of us rise to the task ahead, to repair damage fossil fuel use has caused, the sooner and greater our opportunity to help our planet and its people recover.
