The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has failed the environment and imperiled wildlife by approving benzovindiflupyr, a poisonous pesticide, without consulting federal wildlife biologists, as required under the Endangered Species Act.
In a press release, the Center for Biological Diversity's Senior Attorney Stephanie Parent describes the EPA's "indifference" as: “This pesticide is highly poisonous to fish and other wildlife, but the EPA approved it anyway." And Parent fears that the approval of benzovindiflupyr and 3 other pesticides will put "imperiled wildlife across the country in harm’s way.” Benzovindiflupyr will be used on crops from vegetables to cereals and inevitably make its way to our waterways as runoff.
In this time of unprecedented species extinction, we can't afford to put our wildlife at any more risk.
