Sign the Petition to Demand Marriage Equality is Written into Federal Law!

Pride Month is a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, but since the leak that revealed the Supreme Court is most likely about to overturn Roe v. Wade, there has been growing concern that this decision will snowball into a wider threat to human rights – including marriage equality. Plus, in the past few months, we have seen a rise in anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and legislation. The best way for Congress to protect marriage equality, is to codify the right to marry anyone of any gender.

Sign the petition to urge Congress to codify marriage equality!

Since 2015, same-sex couples have been able to marry in the United States, when the Supreme Court ruled in favor of Obergefell v. Hodges. In the Roe v. Wade decision leak, Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito who wrote the document, explicitly criticized same-sex marriage in the document. Based on Alito's words coupled with the recent rise in anti-LGBTQ+ sentiments and law, it is likely that we are going to continue to see legal attacks against privacy, which could jeopardize many human rights laws in the US.

So far this year, almost 240 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been filed. Politicians' statements of allyship during Pride Month mean absolutely nothing if LGBTQ+ rights are constantly being attacked. Congress needs to stop their empty statements of support and actually protect LGBTQ+ people with laws.

Sign the petition to tell Congress to codify marriage equality once and for all!
