We all know they how the justice system in the Philippines work and how also lawyers make cases stay longer in courts so they can charge more appearance fee and etc. That is why our country is being listed in the top corrupt countries and have gotten and an ultimatum for UN.
A victim of domestic abuse is already suffering from PTSD and the fact of going through court overtime just to find out lawyers will ask for a reset and make ways to have the case stay longer make the victims suffer more emotional, psychological and financial to fight for their justice.
Because of how slow the process is and the system many victims give up fighting because they start losing hope. This is not to mention of the corruption that is going on if the victim is fighting with a man who has money.
To top it all, there are children who are suffering more because of deprivation of their rights.
Our government should make sure that cases like RAPE AND VAWC should give resolution by the court within 2 years or less. And should warn the lawyers with their delaying tactics.
This is to help the victims and at the same time so every person will take it seriously that abuse to women and children is no joke crime.
