Dear Mrs Grant
Re: Hazard of HGV’s Using Small Country Lane
I am writing this letter due to the amount of HGV’s using Brishing Lane, Boughton Monchelsea, a small country lane which is not suitable for HGV’s.
Although there are signs at both entrances of Brishing Lane, stating that it is unsuitable for use of HGV’s still they persist to use the road, forcing other drivers to either reverse the length of the road or face scratching their vehicle by having to drive close to the bushes to let the HGV’s through. The majority of drivers on this road are parents taking their children to the local village school and rely on this road to get them there, however at least once a week they are faced with the problem of the HGV’s causing stress and children to be late for school.
This is unacceptable and we demand that chicanes be put in at both entrances to Brishing Lane, forcing the HGV’s to use more appropriate roads catered for their size.
Thank you for your help with this matter and we look forward to receiving a positive outcome in the near future.
Yours faithfully
Mrs G Charnley
