Ban Cosmetic Animal Testing in the U.S.!

The European Union banned animal cosmetic testing in 2009, and plans to ban products tested outside the E.U. by March 2013. In December 2012, Israel placed a complete ban on cosmetics, personal care and household products. Unfortunately, animals continue to suffer for beauty aids sold in the U.S.

Cosmetic companies require 2,000 to 3,000 tests for each product, and lab animals -- usually rabbits, rats and mice -- suffer immense pain and die during these trials. In the tests, products are directly applied to animals' eyes, noses and mouths to test allergic reactions. With cruelty-free alternatives such as in vitro screens, there's no excuse to test on animals.

Style and compassion can go hand in hand: hundreds of affordable cosmetics in the U.S. market, including Urban Decay, Burt's Bees and The Body Shop, refuse to test their ingredients or finished products on animals. You can see a complete list of cruelty-free companies at www.leapingbunny.org.

Please sign the petition to support a complete ban on cosmetic animal testing in the U.S.

Please follow the leads of Israel and the E.U. and enforce a complete ban on animal cosmetics testing in the U.S. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
