I am an RN and work with an Agency. I work with many other agency nurses who have been banned from hospitals throughout the GTA because of a mere patient complaint no matter how trivial. One is prevented from earning a living because of (atitude, late administration of med, singled out when incidents take place, responding to patients who degrade and insult nurses of colour.
Disproportionate amounts of complaints against RACIIALIZED nurses do not go to the College of Nurses but one cannot work in particular hospitals.
Many times not given the chance to defend oneself about the allegations. It is emotionally, mentally, physically a traumatic experience. With the stroke of a pen you cannot work in Toronto or surrounding area. You name enters a DNR list (DO NOT RETURN). Synonymous with death (DNR do not resusitate)
