What is This All About?
I have started this petition to STOP the new 'Mega Hospital" in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. This new hospital will cost us, the tax payers 1.3-1.5 billion dollars. This is a large expense that is not currently needed in the Windsor-Essex region. There are currently two hospitals in Windsor that provide all medical services to the more than 300,000 residents in the Windsor-Essex area. The wait times in the existing hospitals are quite long some days. The idea of the new hospital is to cut the wait times, but I believe there is a more cost effective way to lessen those wait times, and meet the needs of the tax payers.
Why Sign?
Whether you are a resident of Windsor-Essex, or Ontario this issue does affect YOU. This new "Mega Hospital" will receive all of it's funding from the province of Ontario, which means that even if you are a tax payer from Ottawa, or even Thunder Bay it will still be funded partially by your taxes. The bottom line is that this new hospital will cost Ontario over a billion dollars even though it is not needed today.
