LET PG COUNTY STUDENTS RIDE METRO FOR FREE !

I believe students who attend Prince George's County Public Schools should have the same rights as students who attend District of Columbia Public Schools to ride the metro for free to get to and from school. There are students who are in low-moderate income families who can't afford to pay the rising cost of metro fares. It's unfair to the Prince George's County students who work hard in school and still have to worry about paying fare for the metro. In addition, WMATA is having several alarming issues with their transit system. These issues are consistent barriers for Prince George's County Public School students due to the fact most students have to ride metro rail and the metro bus to and from school. Also, the decision that was made to raise metro's fares will add to the hardship of the students and their parents. My goal is to have the Prince George's County Board of Education and Washington Area Metro Transit Authority approve all Prince George's County School students to ride metro for free. Finally, my connection to this cause is that I am also a Prince George's County School student who uses metro to get to and from school and would like to see changes made for all Prince George's County students.
