Gov. Brown: Use Found Money to Fund Threatened State Parks!

California Governer Jerry Brown has claimed that 70 state parks were in danger of closing due to lack of funds. According to Brown's administration, closing these parks would save the state $22 million. Recently, officials discovered a combined $54 million of hidden assets that had accumulated over 12 years: $20.4 million in the Parks and Recreation Fund and $33.5 million in the Off Highway Vehicle Trust Fund.

The found assets are more than enough to fund California's state parks without raising taxes. The obvious solution to the park budget problem is to use the $54 million to keep the parks open. Please sign the petition to urge Gov. Brown to use this found money fo fund state parks.

Dear Gov. Brown,

We, the undersigned, were surprised to learn about the $54 million hidden assets that have accumulated over 12 years in the Parks and Recreation Fund and the Off Highway Vehicle Trust Fund. We understand that, until this revelation, 70 parks were threatened to close due to lack of funds.

The found assets are more than enough to fund California's state parks. The We urge you to use the found money to keep all of California's parks open without increasing taxes. Thank you for taking the time to read and consider our petition.
