Abandoned house on 1546 Greene Acres Road

We the undersigned petition that the abandoned house on 1546 Greene Acres Road, Snow Hill, NC is not only an eyesore, but also a health hazard for the neighborhood. It is bringing the tax value of the surrounding properties down and also making the county a less desirable place to live. It affects new business coming to the county because if you drive down Pridgen Road or Greene Acres Road it is the first thing you see sitting on the corner. There are snakes, raccoons, mice and all kinds of rodents coming from this house. The house has been in bankruptcy 3 times by the same property owners. We demand it be auctioned off for the back taxes owed so someone will have the opportunity to try to repair this house and property to make it so someone could possibly live in it. It has been abandoned for 5 years and it is time to do something about it.
