Petition: Stop holding cats in temples

In Japan, cats are held and worshiped as gods, depriving them of living as free as other animals and denying them the right to breed.

This is not a joke, this shrine, called Nyan Nyan Ji – the Meow Meow Temple – has been around since 2016 and is run by the cat Koyuki.

The sanctuary is located in Kyoto and must certainly arouse the curiosity of the largest number. From the photos posted online on Skystori news, the place looks like a real little world dedicated to cats away from the normal life of animals.

Animal cruelty is an indicator of violence against humans. Researchers in psychology and criminology point out that people who engage in violence against animals later turn violent towards humans, according to a report of BBC news
