Boycott Canadian Seafood to Save Seals

Each spring, the Canadian government authorizes its commercial fishing industry to kill hundreds of thousands of baby seals for their fur. It's the largest slaughter of marine mammals in the world -- and it's all in the name of fashion.

Sealers are commercial fishermen who earn only a small fraction of their incomes from killing seals. Canada's Department of Fisheries and Oceans says that it will shut down the commercial seal slaughter only when Canada's fishing industry asks it to do so.

The rest of the world is moving beyond commercial sealing. Russia, reportedly responsible for about 90 percent of seal skin exports from Canada in some years, passed a historic ban on trade in harp seal fur. They join the United States, the European Union, Mexico, and others in standing up for seals.

Add your name to our seafood boycott below and help us send a message to the Canadian fishing industry that until they stop participating in the slaughter of seal pups, we won't buy their seafood.
Your Pledge:

YES! I will boycott Canadian seafood to save seals
I pledge not to buy Canadian seafood -- like snow crabs, cod, and cold water shrimp -- as long as the Canadian commercial fishing industry continues its slaughter of baby seals.
