Stop Coal Mining Near Bryce Canyon!

Beautiful Bryce Canyon National Park in Southern Utah draws over a million and half visitors each year. Visitors come to experience its cathedral-like rock formations, picturesque canyons and abundant wildlife. Unfortunately, the construction of a brand-new coal mine is threatening this national treasure, putting all of its natural resources in jeopardy.
The federal government recently gave a tentative thumbs-up to build out a massive coal-strip mine 10 miles from the park. The mine would endanger wildlife, dirty the air, and pollute the water.
The coal from the mine would go to LA's Department of Water and Power (LADWP) coal plant in southern Utah, generating power for the LA area. Let LADWP know that we as Angelenos can't sit by as our coal plant jeopardizes one of the special places in the United States. Urge the LADWP to stop the construction of this coal mine!

This is unacceptable. I call on the Board of Commissioners to demand a plan from LADWP staff that ends our use of dirty and dangerous coal before its too late to stop this devastating proposal.
Stop this proposal and protect Bryce Canyon National Park.
