Presidential Candidates: Kids' Healthcare is Important, Too!
Children need a voice in this election. Nearly 9 million children are currently uninsured and an estimated 20 million do not have access to comprehensive healthcare.
Presidential candidates Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain discussed domestic and economic priorities at the final campaign debate. But what about children's healthcare? With the economy taking over the headlines, we need to make sure children's healthcare isn't overlooked.
How will the presidential candidates make children a priority? Send a letter to the campaigns asking them to address this question and more in the final days of the election.
Dear Senators John McCain and Barack Obama,
In the final days of the campaign, please remember that children are the future of this country. Yet 8.7 million children are currently uninsured and an estimated 20 million do not have access to comprehensive healthcare.

How will you make children a priority when you are President? What is your plan to get children insured? How will you strengthen the child health care safety net? How will you make it easier for working families to afford insurance? What will you do to make sure there are enough primary care and family doctors in the future? How will you address disparities in healthcare? Will you address the massive shortages in pediatric mental health providers? What will you do to improve access to pediatric dentists?
I implore you to address these pressing issues in the days leading up to November 4th.
