REI: Stop selling products made with toxic chemicals!

The outdoor gear industry has a toxic secret. Many popular outdoor brands use PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) to waterproof their products — from jackets to boots. The production, use, and disposal of these products can pollute people and the environment. It's estimated that 97 percent of Americans have PFAS in their bodies, chemicals that have been linked to cancer and other serious health problems.

As a company committed to sustainability and one of the top outdoor gear retailers, REI can lead the industry away from these toxic chemicals.

Join other consumers in asking CEO Eric Artz to be a leader, and only sell products without these toxic chemicals!
I want REI to stop selling all products made with PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), which have been linked to cancer and other serious health problems. REI's announcement of a phase-out of these toxic chemicals in a handful of product categories is not enough to address the PFAS pollution crisis. As one of the largest outdoor retailers, and a company committed to sustainability, REI has a responsibility to lead a bold and aggressive phase-out of all PFAS in all of the products it sells.
