GREENCats is a campaign to save the lives of our urban feral cats by advocating that they be officially recognized by the City as "green" policy on Pest Control - Community (feral) cats are environmentally-friendly rodent exterminators (24/7) crucial to the health of our cities!
City Hall's conventional answer to pest control is the antiquated use of poison chemicals to combat rat infestation with its collateral and toxic effect that disrupts the natural ecology of our planet. The poisons that end up in the soil and are ingested by wildlife including insects and birds, also reach the water supply to do further damage to people, pets and the environment.
GREENCats is the winning alternative, implementing a humane and progressive solution to pest control for the community.
The primary goal of GREENCats is to elevate the status of the feral cat from unwanted nuisance to valued and respected community ally. Other cities such as Ottawa, Canada and Rome, Italy have taken the lead in honoring feral cats for their contribution to maintaining the heath of their communities. This strategy of saving feral cats by employing them to get rid of rats and mice has proven highly successful and is currently being employed at private institutions such as: Disneyland, the Self-Realization Ashram, and the LAPD!
