Bus Route Revision

The most important route for Langford is the 50. This bus travels from Westshore Town Centre up Jacklin, then turns left onto Dunford followed by a right onto Carlow and back onto Goldstream,  then it continues up Goldstream to the Island Hwy. etc. A new route effective September 8th, stops travel down Dunford Road ( along which many business are ), Carlow Road and two blocks of Goldstream. When hundreds of kids go back to school, the 50 bus won't even be in sight for students who take public transit, they will have to walk along a dangerous part of Goldstream Road to catch a bus. Spencer Middle School, although it has a small bus system of its own still needs the public transit readily available for its riders. Many after school activities happen at Spencer Middle School when their own bus systems are not in operation. Along with the Isabelle's Reader Theatre there needs to be something available for students who need to get there. This change in the route will also cause inconvienances for athletes who will be playing baseball at Centennial Park.  It will also cause trouble for parents who wish to bring their children to the water park, which is also off Carlow Rd. As well as the teenagers, who have classes at Juan de Fuca's Centennial Centre. The point of transit is to get people to their destinations faster, not slower.  The list goes on for recreational purposes, it includes thousands of people who swim, or fish at Langford Lake If anything, shouldn't the route be extended to Leigh Road? But I haven't even mentioned the residences that live in these areas? People who already walk to the bus along Leigh Road, Kiwi Road, Maurice Lane, Costin Ave, Linda Place, and Carlow Road will now need to spend more time getting where they want to go.  I may not be a transit planner for the City of Langford, but I sure know a mistake when I see one.
