One of the worst routes for traffic in North London stretches between Swiss Cottage in the South and Muswell Hill in the North, taking in Ftizjohns Avenue, Hampstead Lane, Highgate Village and Muswell Hill Road. There IS a bus that runs the whole route the 603 - but, currently, it only appears twice a day. Most importantly it misses the entire school run period on the South to North section. No other bus links the South to the North, so hundreds of parents in particular take to their cars each day.
A review of the 603 bus is due to report next year and the consultation phase is over at the end of December 2007. Please help our campaign by signing this petition:
For the sake of our environment, our health and our safety, I request that the 603 bus route is extended as follows:
· to start the service from 7:30am at the Swiss Cottage end
· to increase the frequency in both directions, with a bus every 10 minutes until 8.45am
· to increase the frequency in both directions during peak school going home time (3.00pm - 5.30 pm)
· to install countdown technology at the bus stops
