Many cuts to Early Childhood programs are proposed in the Michigan Legislature. Cuts to the Great Start Readiness Program; Great Parents, Great Start; 0-3 Secondary; the childcare fund; portions of the Healthy Michigan Fund; & the Early Childhood Investment Corporation are proposed.
It is vital to restore funding for all early childhood programs. Help make sure our State Representatives and Senators hear our voices LOUDLY and sign to support all Early Childhood Programs. Please share this petition with everyone committed to the future success of Michigan.
We the undersigned would like you to know that the proposed cuts to early childhood will gut services for young children in our local community. The loss of pre-k, child care, our Great Start Collaborative and the Early Childhood Investment Corporation are particularly devastating at this time of economic uncertainty in Michigan. The impact of these cuts in our community will prevent 273 four-year olds from attending preschool; cut 20 full-time jobs through GSRP; cut services for 102 Copper Country familes through the home visiting program; cut childcare support for low income families; eliminate major portions of the Healthy Michigan Fund; & slash support for young parents through the Great Parents Great Start Program. Please do not allow these actions to take place.
