Save our noble friend, the horse from slaughterhouses.

Dear President Obama
Our wild horses are in trouble and need your help.
 President Obama,I do not want my tax dollars going to the BLM to round-up wild horses with helicopters,and hold them captive until they are sold or slaughtered as is allowed by law now.
Our wild horses represent our own wild free nature. In 1971 we allocated 43 million acres of BLM land for their survival. Then,Senator Conrad Burns slipped in a amendment in the 2004 budget,two days before vote, and changed the law . Since then the BLM has rounded up over 100,000 horses saying they are destructive to the environment while they allow 7 million cattle and sheep to take their place.
 It is time to reverse this sorry excuse to get the most out of our tax dollar.
Horses have survived 50 million years on this continent! They are one of the hardiest creatures on earth. They have also carried us upon their backs through history.They fouight in our wars and died by our swords. They have plowed our fields, healed our sick and depressed children, inspired the greatest art ,books,songs. They have been one of our closest animal allies. Now they need us! 
What kind of monsters have we become as human beings to treat so noble a friend so unkindly?
Slaughter houses,recently closed are now being  reconsidered in Montana. Horses are difficult to kill as they are flight animals and the the dime sized mark between their eyes is hard to target often causing them to be dismembered ALIVE!
We don't slaughter our dogs or cats and horses should certainly be revered as much.
Horses are the un- sung heros of our destiny.
In 1971 the White house recieved more letters to save the wild horse than any other issue other than the Vietnam war!  Thus the Wild free roaming Horse and Burro Act was born to save the dwindling horse herds from extinction. Whole families and ancient bloodlines have been forever lost due to the BLM destructive program to manage the wild horse. They seperate foals from mothers and sell off mothers from their beloved families. We can't let it go on. We mustn't! Please help our horses. Urge Congress to vote for HR. 503 that would prevent slaughter houses for horses in the USA and  also protect them from being exported to foreign countries for slaughter.
Hr.1018 would forbid the BLM from rounding up horses with helicopters which causes tramplings of the foals ,broken limbs  and mass panic. I'm sick to death that our tax dollars is being maximized when the BLM could reduce  over population through a catch and release program to castrate stallions.
BLM refuses to acknowledge the over population of the 7 million cattle and sheep that are now overtaking the wild horses land. This issue grows bigger every day and I hope you will help Americans  do what is owed for the horse.
