Save the Humans - end animal research now!
Bearing in mind that what may pass as scientifically "safe"
for other species might prove harmful, even fatal, for Man,
and concerned with the security of the Person,
We, the undersigned, urge the Canadian Government to immediately:
end the funding of medical experiments on animals, and end all
requirement for product safety testing upon animals, given that
non-invasive, more appropriate, ethical and reliable research
methods are available.
We, the undersigned, urge the Canadian Government to:
- end funding of scientific experiments on animals in favour of the non- violent, more appropriate, ethical and reliable research methods which
are already, and increasingly, available;
- end product safety testing involving animals (what passes as "safe" for
other species has often proven harmful, even fatal, for Man);
- greater accountability from publicly funded researchers;
- and higher standards of animal treatment more in line with those of EU
member nations.
