We NEED a third choice

We are in the midst of searching for the best possible permanent placement for our daughter who’s mental health needs surpassed our ability to care for.

With her safety and the safety of our other children always in the forefront, we made the devastating decision to have our daughter removed from our home.

Now we have two choices.

1) We source the appropriate private therapeutic treatment for Carrie and fund it ourselves. They start at $80,000.00 a year.

2) We stand in front of a judge and relinquish our parental rights and CAS can source treatment and fund it.

We need a third choice!

We need a choice where we can secure the proper treatment for Carrie and remain her legal guardians. We need a choice that means the government still recognizes us as a forever family, but will agree to help us secure the funds required for Carrie to be properly supported and have the specific treatment she requires and deserves.

I will ALWAYS be My daughters mom, I know how to be her mom and I’m good at it!

What I don’t know how to do is care for her ILLNESSES!

God forbid if She had been diagnosed with a terrible disease.

Would I be expected to develop a medicine to cure her?

Would I be expected to know how to support her body as she went through treatment?

Would I be expected to preform surgery?

Would I be required to relinquish my parental rights to secure her hospital care?

NO I wouldn’t.....
