Asthmatics for UK Armed Forces

Many fit people have dreams of joining the army and a large percentage of them suffer with asthmatics like myself.

It has been proved many times that people who suffer from asthma have better stamina and are fitter than other military recruits. This is because as a group we work harder. We need to work harder physically to get past the wall of asthma and for many fit asthmatics this is easy. Once past the astma in excersise the results are extraordinary! This mindset of working harder is an advantage to the military and also gives us the mental fitness and toughness.

However, despite being fit, able and mentally tough due to one word on our medical details asthmatics are forbidden to join or even train for the UK armed forces.

This petition is to fight for the right to join the UK special forces as an asthmatic (obviously depending on the ability of the asthmatic) or at least be able to obtain a medical waiver as the US armed forces are able to. If you are a lover, relative, friend or yourself an asthmatic I beg of you to sign this petition for myself, my fellow asthmatic wanna be servicemen and for the future asthmatics.
