We the undersigned believe that art is a big part of small town life in Douglasville. We have art galleries, antique shops, and craft shops that allow people to sell craft items they have created. We do not agree with the City of Douglasville's decision to have the yarnbombed tree in front of Something More Than Ordinary and the rabbit in front of Tuoia removed. Items like these create interest for small town businesses and entice future customers into shops. We would like to see both replaced and a new rule in place saying that local businesses in town are free to decorate the outside of their shops with art or tasteful decor. Many other towns near Douglasville allow their businesses to decorate outside their doors--Serenbe, Carrollton, Marietta. Douglasville should allow art to be seen outside local small businesses.
