75% of late stage ovarian cancer patients will not live beyond five years....The current treatments have been used for almost 20 years with little success.... the disease returns. What is the logic in doing something that doesn't work? The CDN government can improve patient survival by:
-Cut the bureaucratic red tape. It can take up to 10 years to get new drugs to the patient. Create a fast track program where promising new drugs can go from research, to clinical trials, to patient much sooner.
More support for research. Because of the huge outpouring of funds for breast cancer, many more lives have been saved. NOW is the time to improve funding for ovarian cancer. It is the most deadly gynaecological cancer the third most prevalent.
Aggressive action needed NOW to utilise novel meds with the standard treatment. Bevacizumab and olaparib, two drugs used to help treat ovarian cancer in the USA could be used here if passed by the CDN government.
Now is the time for Health Canada to update ovarian cancer treatment to support more funding for this deadly, recurrent disease.

Hello! If you haven't already signed the petition I strongly urge you to consider signing. Stop and think about all the vital lives lost and that will be if we don't do something. Let's convince the CDN gov to fast track promising novel drugs for compassionate reasons as done for people with other deadly cancers.
