Tell Religious Leaders That Same-Sex Marriage is Not a Threat to Religious Freedom!

A group of around forty religious leaders put together an open letter called "Marriage and Religious Freedom: Fundamental Goods That Stand or Fall Together" that tries to show opposing same-sex marriage as fighting for religious freedom.

In the letter, they communicate that they are not worried about being forced to perform same-sex weddings, but rather, that legalizing gay marriage would pressure religious organizations and people to treat same sex relations as the "moral equivalent" of marital relations, which would lead to church and state conflicts.

Religious freedom -- the right to be able to practice and believe in any religion one wants without persecution -- would not be hurt by same-sex couples getting the freedom to marry.

Tell these religious leaders that same-sex marriage is not a threat to religious freedom!

Dear Writers of "Marriage and Religious Freedom: Fundamental Goods That Stand or Fall Together" --

You all recently wrote an open letter called "Marriage and Religious Freedom: Fundamental Goods That Stand or Fall Together". In it, you all argue that opposing same-sex marriage is like fighting for religious freedom.

Religious freedom, which means being able to believe and practice one's religion without persecution, would not be hurt by same-sex couples being granted the freedom to marry.
