unofficial petition to express concern for the equine community of Clark County WA.

it is our express concern that the Equine community of Clark County Washington are being unfairly targeted by county officials. through vague, indiscriminate codes in order to force closure of boarding facilities in order to open up more land for development. By signing this petition you will be putting the county board on notice that we, as tax paying voting Community members, are not happy with the current codes and wish for them to be reassessed and changed in order to provide Clarification that Boarding facilities are not in the same class as big box stores such as Walmart and Home Depot.requiring structural engineering of trusses on pre-existing buildings, assessing fines and or fees in excess of $10,000.00 is strong arm tactics. in the face of such fines and fees,existing facilities have no choice but to close..the verbiage in the codes requires Equine animals to be housed in soundproof buildings from 10pm to 7am.there isn't an Equine building in clark county that is sound proof.and most facilities allow animals to be outside 24 hours a day except when being ridden.horses are Herbivores that prefer to graze, and not be locked in a building over night.
