Stop Hunting for Ornamental Fish, Keep Them Alive

The ornamental aquatic industry is a global industry that trades in a number of freshwater and marine organisms such as fish, invertebrates and plants. It is also an industry that, on a global basis, moves the greatest numbers of animals (Ploeg, 2012a) and is estimated, worldwide, to involve more than two million people both directly and indirectly (including hobbyists) http://52.77.237.15 For this review, however, the ornamental aquatic industry is considered as being those engaged in commercial activity only and excludes end users such as hobbyists and public aquaria. In the wider context of global live‐fish utilisation, such as in comparison with the live food‐fish sector, the ornamental aquatic industry is deemed to be high value, low volume [Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO, 2016)].

Solution: Think how old our earth is now, and why we are still selfish. Make friends with nature, be aware of each of the food chain circles in this world.

Trade is typically interpreted as meaning the buying, selling or exchange of goods. However, under some conventions, such as the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES; www.cites.org), trade can refer simply to the movement of goods across borders.
