Trump's Attorney General Pam Bondi crossed the line this week when she declared on a podcast that the Department of Justice would be "going after" and prosecuting anyone who spoke or posted disrespectfully of the assassinated white supremacist propagandist Charlie Kirk.
"There's free speech and then there's hate speech, and there is no place, especially now, especially after what happened to Charlie, in our society...We will absolutely target you, go after you, if you are targeting anyone with hate speech," said Bondi in an appearance on Katie Miller's podcast.

This is not only infuriating because the right-wing has spent the past 15 years gleefully spewing ACTUAL hate speech — Charlie Kirk HIMSELF argued that "hate speech does not exist in America" — but it is also a WILDLY unconstitutional attack on our right to free speech coming from one of our nation's top law officials.
As if that wasn't bad enough, Bondi would later threaten to prosecute a worker from Office Depot for refusing to print flyers for a Charlie Kirk memorial vigil.
"If you wanna go in and print posters with Charlie's pictures on them for a vigil, you have to let them do that. We can prosecute you for that. I have Harmeet Dhillon right now in our civil rights unit looking at that immediately, that Office Depot had done that. We're looking it up," said Bondi.
