The Gus, Tug & Kaycee Law

This Post on Facebook got  1.7 shares before taken downfrom the Owner of Gus, Tug & Kaycee in her words describing what happen... As many of you know, we've had a horrible, frightening nightmare occur here. We're heart-broken beyond words. But my family, friends and my husband and I want everyone to know how much we appreciate all your sympathy and empathy. And your shares, kindnesses and support. The more we get this out, the better chance we have of at least making changes in laws to protect our beloved pets. Believe me, if you could have seen the carnage, the massacre of what these evil people did to my precious three dogs, you'd understand it's even more important because anyone capable of such torture, could very well be capable of doing it to a human being. This post has somehow became almost a book. I beg your patience. It's seemed so important to tell as much as possible. Maybe even a bit cathartic. This past Tuesday morning, my three sweet Labs were let out to do their business. (We live on 14 secluded, wooded acres near Eagle Rock, MO). When they didn't come back as is typical, we became concerned. All our neighbors joined in the search to no avail. That night we were up all night calling for our babies. As soon as our local Veterinary office opened, I called them and told them about our missing pets: Two Chocolate labs and one yellow Lab. I explained they were totally non-aggresive, big, fun loving pups. So no one had no fear in approaching them. Within five minutes I received a call from a man who said in a very gruff voice, "I'm calling cause I hear you called up there to that Vet's office about three dogs." I immediately felt elated, Thank God he's found them! But then he said, "I just want to tell you your dogs are dead. They were shot and they won't be coming home tonight." He sounded mean. Almost like he enjoyed saying that. I said, "What, what I don't understand?" And I'm crying. He said, "I told you. They're dead! They won't be coming home tonight." My husband grabbed the phone and demanded his name. He said it was Rick and that's all he was going to say. My husband jumped into our vehicle and went to Vet's office. He told them about the call and said he just wanted to get our dogs. The receptionist immediately said, "Paradise Cove, state line road." (18828 Farm Road 2300, Eagle Rock, MO 65641)--I'm the one whom is providing the address in parenthesis. We went there. There was a white gate, sign with name: Paradise Cove and their names below it and number. Rick and Marcia Perkins /417-846-5997 There was a speaker box. My husband said he'd like to talk to them. No answer. My husband took me home, went to get his brother and they headed back to start talking to neighbors. In meanwhile, I called the Vet's office and said I'm trying to make sense of this. I was put on hold and a man came on. He told me he'd not even been able to sleep, he had been sick to his stomach. He said he'd got a call the day before from a man who was terribly upset. They had been enjoying watching three beautiful Labs, happy and healthy, wearing bright orange collars, playing on the shoreline of the lake. They were so happy, obviously enjoying themselves. About that time, their neighbor, drove down to the lake in her golf cart and brutally started shooting at them. Two tried to run for cover in some woods but we're bleeding profusely. The good Samaritans tried to comfort them and said they were sweet, licking them even in their pain. They called the Vet, crying to see if they could be saved. They wanted to adopt them if owners couldn't be found. The Vet realized they'd been gut shot. It'd have been a miracle and very unlikely they'd survive. They said the older of them was shot a minimum of six shots and appeared to be dead. The veterinarian was obviously upset as he tried to comfort me. Meanwhile, my husband and his brother found a neighbor who started tearing up when my husband told him who he was. He and his wife described the scene just as the Vet had described to me. My husband asked if they knew where our dogs were. The man nodded and because the Perkins were gone, he'd show him. They were piled up on some dirt. I later learned what they found. It was a bloody massacre. A grisly, horrific sight. Countless bullet holes and like someone had taken perverse pleasure totally desecrating my sweet Gus' privates parts. Their collars had been cut off. My husband and brother-in-law brought my babies home where they can rest in peace. Yes, there are witnesses, proof and photographs. No, I haven't seen. Please feel free to share. I want to save other pets hopefully change laws. Thank you.

Dogs are being shot / tortured for no other reason other than they were on your Property! They were not threatening in any way so you should have to call Animal Control, The Sheriffs Office , Call the Owners if Possible, or even shoot into the air to scare them off so they don't come back but it should be Against the Law to just shoot them dead!!! Dogs are getting shot/tortured for wondering onto a property playing and some dogs are being shot in their own yards! There needs to be laws and Stiffer Punishments for shooting Dogs to put a end to this!!!!"The law needs to be that if an animal is on your property causing no harm, you must call the proper authorities to have the animal humanely removed, not killed. It needs to be that causing harm to any animal is a felony if your life is not directly endangered by that animal. People who murder animals, and abuse animals do the same to people. Animals are just their practice. I do not want these psychopaths in our communities free to hurt/kill people. Automatic 5 years in prison for each animal, no probation, parole or good time off, 3 years reporting probation to follow time served for each animal killed, $10,000 fine for each animal killed to go to the owners of the animal(s), and if a payment is missed it's an automatic visit back to prison for 12 months, also life on an animal abuser registry."
