In Höganäs (Sweden) a group of stray cats have found a place to be, and people feed them. A man has placed barbed wire in the bushes around where they are, and he sometimes captures and kills the cats. I was personally just about to take one of the younger cats into my home, and try to find him another home. He was a beautiful, friendly, wonderful cat, about one year old. Right before I got the chance to do this, he got seriously injured, his paw was sliced open, and he had cuts up around his legs. He had an infection, and high fever, and he had to be put to sleep.
This wouldn't have happened if the barbed wire was gone. A woman had complained to the authorities about it before, but nothing was done. And because of that, this young, wonderful cat is now dead. So I ask you to sign this petition so we can demand from Höganäs city that they get rid of the barbed wire, so that no more cats need to have the same fate. I should also add that it's not just stray cats in the area - I have personally rescued an injured bird from the wire, it also needed to be put to sleep because of the injuries. There are also lots of domestic cats who sometimes run around outdoors, and they too are at risk. So please sign this petition so we can put an end to his cruelty!
