Eliminate the use of high stakes testing in Pennsylvania

We the undersigned parents, caregivers, educators, guardians, students, community members and taxpayers petition our governor, the Pennsylvania Board of elementary and secondary education and the Pennsylvania Legislature to:

• Place a reprieve on high stakes testing; state mandated testing in Pennsylvania

• Begin a state-wide effort to design an improved assessment method that can help our students reach their full potential.

Our children are overwhelmed with high stakes testing. Learning has become unnatural and unenjoyable. Anxiety and distress have taken the place of excitement and the eagerness to learn that once was. We need to take back what's been stolen from our children and stand up for their right to a quality education without high stakes testing. Let's make a change for the betterment of our youth.
