When we talk about Denmark, we normally refer to Jutland, Zealand, Funen and the islands scattered around the Danish waters. Yet the Faroe Islands in the North Atlantic and Greenland, which is part of the North American continent, also belong to the Kingdom of Denmark but have autonomous self-rule.
A statement from the Council Of The European Union:
2) According to Directive 92/43/EEC on the conservation of natural habitats and of wild fauna and flora (the Habitats Directive)[15] all cetacean species are listed in its Annex IV. Therefore, all whale species are strictly protected from deliberate disturbance, capture or killing within Community waters. The same Directive also prohibits the keeping, transport and sale or exchange, of specimens taken from the wild.

Denmark clearly state that The Faroes are part of the Danish Kingdom. They may have autonomous rule but Denmark signed up to these EU rules and it happens in EU waters. Denmark uses Warships to help in the barbaric Killing of Pilot Whales and Dolphins. The EU must enforce their own rules.
