Ban Homework K-12

Why should homework be banned? In today's world, students are expected to go to school for seven hours, do extra curricular activities, complete hours of homework, while still being able to get enough sleep and be a kid. With hours of homework or even just a sheet of homework it is taking away time for students to just be kids. Schedules are such a big part of every families life and fitting in that homework time is hard for some considering that there are only 24 hrs in a day and you are expected to get 7-8 hours of sleep, be in school for 7 or so hours, and still maintain a healthy life. Homework is busy work. Students are more worried about completing the assignment rather than learning what the assignment is actually asking them to think about. The education system has also changed in many ways where parents didnt learn the same stuff their children are learning today. How are parents supposed to help their child when they dont know how to do a method they didnt learn themselves. Banning homework across the grid in all schools K-12 will help students start to get enough sleep, focus on being a kid while they can, and without the extra stress of the extra work - they might even start to excel more in school.
