With Roe v. Wade repealed by Trump's cronies on the Supreme Court, Republicans have declared open season on our reproductive rights — and now they're even going after IVF treatments!
In vitro fertilization is yet another way for women to assert their autonomy over their own bodies and control their reproductive lives, so of course the religious far-right wants to do away with it. And do away with it they did in the state of Alabama, where extremists on the state Supreme Court ruled that embryos are considered legally people — instantly causing hospitals to stop administering IVF treatments out of fear of legal repercussions.

"The Christian right wants to end IVF for two reasons: First, because of the bottomless misogyny and homophobia that fuels the movement. Second, because the end goal for the Christian right is to turn the U.S. into a theocracy, and banning IVF helps them get there," writes Amanda Marcotte in Salon.
Republicans won't stop rolling back the clock until they make women second-class citizens again. We have to fight them every step of the way!
