Students Deserve Their Good Student Discount

When I purchased Progressive's auto insurance for my first car last January, I was told I could get a good student discount. I have a 'bare bones' liability policy because I can't afford comprehensive insurance. I, like many other college students, am struggling to get by with student loans falling short and having no employer. 

When I called Progressive to sign up for the Good Student Discount, I was denied because I am the primary policy holder. This makes no sense to me and many other students who have been denied. I pay for my students loans, I pay my own expenses, and above all, I pay for this insurance policy

Progressive owes students who are primary policy holders to have access to the Good Student Discount they have earned. Students must stand up for what they deserve for pursuing a higher education. A "Good Student Discount" is not a Good Student Discount if you disclude the students, Progressive. We demand our discount! 

Additonally, students are urged to call Progressive and politely demand their discount at 1-800-PROGRESSIVE and contact them through their site

Dear Progressive, 
   I am writing you in support of letting primary policy holders obtain their "Good Student Discount". When students bought their policies, many were told they could get the discount, but found out that because they were the primary policy holders, they could not.

This punishes students for taking control of their own finances. All students deserve their Good Student Discount, reguardless of them being a primary policy holder or not. If someone pays for your insurance coverage, they expect to be fairly offered a discount. 

Now we are taking action to obtain our rightfully earned discounts. Respect our efforts in life to better ourselves and obtain a higher education, we deserve what we have earned as good students.
