Tell OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Not to Work With Trump's War-Hungry Department of Defense!

Artificial intelligence (AI) should never, ever be a weapon of war.

And yet, one AI CEO is poised to make it just that.

When AI company Anthropic refused to sign a contract with the Department of Defense (grotesquely renamed the Department of War by Donald Trump) without assurances that AI wouldn't be used for mass surveillance or fully autonomous weapons, the company was immediately punished. The federal government banned its tools across federal agencies and labeled it a national security risk.

Let us be clear: this was the right thing for Anthropic to do. Without a guarantee that their AI models wouldn't be used to fully deploy deadly weapons or spy on civilians en masse, Anthropic could not ethically or safely sign a contract with the DoD.

But within hours, OpenAI stepped in to take its place, forfeiting any morals for the chance of a profitable deal with the war-hungry Trump administration.

This wasn't a careful, ethical decision. It was a rushed political powergrab.

The Pentagon had long been pressuring Anthropic to remove two key safeguards in its contract negotiations: protections against using AI for domestic surveillance and autonomous weapons. Anthropic held the line, warning that today's AI systems are nowhere near reliable enough for those uses and could put both civilians and military personnel in danger.

Instead of supporting or echoing those concerns, OpenAI seized the opportunity to betray the ethics that Anthropic had upheld. That same day, February 28 2026, the U.S. launched deadly airstrikes against Iran, plunging us into a war that the majority of Americans do not want.

As of the time of this writing, approximately 3,300 people have been killed in the conflict. It is estimated that over 200 of those casualties are children.

Sign the petition to tell Sam Altman: withdraw from this deal before it puts lives at risk!

Even Sam Altman himself has admitted the deal made his company look "opportunistic and sloppy."

Altman has also acknowledged that once OpenAI's technology is in the hands of the military, his company or its employees has no control over how it's used. No control over whether it contributes to targeting decisions in war. No control over how quickly or dangerously it could escalate conflict.

That means the very people building this technology cannot guarantee it will be used safely or responsibly. Many OpenAI employees, along with Google employees, have created a petition to demand the company withdraw from this dangerous, deadly contract.

Artificial intelligence is already being used in military operations. It is shaping decisions that determine who lives and who dies. Without enforceable safeguards, mistakes could happen faster, scale wider, and become impossible to undo.

Sign the petition to demand that Sam Altman step back, withdraw from this contract, and commit to real, enforceable protections!
