Demand Kohl's Stop Selling Real Fur Labeled as "Faux"

The Humane Society of the United States revealed in September 2014 that testing showed a parka being sold online by Kohl's department store had trim made of real fur. The parka, however, was being marketed as having only "faux fur."

This is the second time within a single year that Kohl's has sold an item labeled as "faux fur" when it contained real animal fur. For those of us who try to purchase only animal-free products, imagine the dismay if you discovered that your parka hood was trimmed in the fur of a dog. That's exactly what happened here.

Please sign this petition to ask the president and CEO of Kohl's to take appropriate steps to ensure that any items it sells that are labeled "faux" fur are really made only of fake fur.

Dear Mr. Mansell:

Those who have signed this petition, like many other members of the public, were distressed and saddened to learn that for the second time in under a year, Kohl's has sold an item labeled as "faux fur" when in reality it contained real animal fur.

Those of us who buy faux fur endeavor to live our lives without bringing harm to animals. It will be more difficult for us as consumers and potential customers to believe Kohl's "faux fur" labeling in its advertisements unless Kohl's introduces effective new practices aimed at ensuring this never happens again.

In addition, we urge Kohl's to adopt a fur-free policy, similar to those already in place at major retailers such as Tommy Hilfiger, JC Penney, Kenneth Cole, Sears, H&M, Coldwater Creek, the Gap, and so many others.

We thank you for giving this matter the attention it deserves.
