improve the standard of living for rabbits in the UK

Standards in England need to improve. (Wales and Scotland have laws that protect rabbits to a higher standard) Rabbits need to be reclassified as pets along with cats and dogs. This is the first step to giving them more protection. They also should NOT be sold in pet shops and garden centres as the people buying them receive NO proper education about their care including that they should be neutered and spayed and vaccinated and need a healthy hay based diet and lots of space to run and jump. Small (less than 6 feet long) hutches need to be BANNED. ALL hutches should have a large run of at least ten feet attached to them. House rabbits should NOT be kept in cages that are smaller than a meter long and ideally they will live free range (they are litter box trainable) in a room/rooms of the house.

Dear Secretary Rt Hon Elizabeth Truss MP, please pay attention to my petition and make these changes happen. I run a rabbit rescue sanctuary and I am so frustrated that nothing has been done to make the needed changes to improve rabbits' lives in England.
