The Prison Photo Ban is unjustified!

Why should over 80,000 prisoners be penalised because of a small minority that have misused photographs? The Prison Authority could tackle this more sensibly by taking each application on its merits and the circumstances involved. Photos are an integral part of many prisoner's lives and if they cannot be with their loved ones, why can they not be allowed a photo - and vice versa. The families of prisoners haven't broken any laws, why penalise them by denying them a photo of their loved one, simply because he or she is locked up?

Dear NOMS,

We the undersigned believe that the blanket ban on photography in the prison system is unfair and unjust. Why must over 80,000 prisoners be affected by the actions of a small minority? Why can the Prison Service not show some common sense and compassion and take each case on its own merits, rather than trying ti apply the same rules to so many thousands of prisoners, all of whom have different circumstances.

There is no justifable reason to this ban - photographs are treasure to many prisoners as well as prisoners' families. Don't continue to punish people who are already paying for their crimes!
