Are young students are suffering because of common core

Sure, Common Core might help adults to see how we are learning, but is that helping us?
Nope, not at all. Last year, The State of Illinois decided to pass on The Common Core standards. This confused MANY students, including me, the subjects we learned in school were harder, there was more tests on computers, and the ISAT test was exchanged for the PARCC test. PARCC is a lot different than ISAT. First things first, it is on a computer. Computerized tests not only are a lot more trouble to figure out, but are also hurting our bodies. We sit for 2 hours staring at a computer screen... and people wonder why this generation has so many students with glasses or contacts.

While I was taking the PARCC test, I for one know that there was a lot of chaos in the classroom. Once people finished they had to go through a hard process to make sure the test saved, AND this didn't even work for all of us. Many administrators had to come in because not all of the computers were working perfectly fine. When they were talking to a student I could barely focus. Not to mention the fact we couldn't leave the classroom without an escort. I'm not in kindergarten anymore... I felt uncomfortable with a teacher I didn't know who would walk me down to the bathroom so I had to hold it in, which most likely made my scores drop a bit. The PARCC test is timed so even though we had a lot of time, I still felt rushed. The PARCC test lasts a lot longer than The ISAT and for us students is only placing more pressure on us.
