Support The Native American Rights

Native American tribal lands have Sovereign Nation Status. As such they have signed many treaties with the Bureau of the Interior, which is failing to comply with agreements that Native Americans regard as urgent. Many state governments refuse to allow Native Americans to construct and operate casinos on their own sovereign land. Native Americans desperately need secure economic growth that is under their own control. It doesn't matter if most Americans don't want gambling in their state - what matters is what Native Americans want. The Federal and State governments must stop interfering with these sovereign nations. In addition, the Federal Government owes billions of dollars to certain tribes but has refused to pay this legal debt for many decades. Let's force the Government to pay these debts now!

For over two hundred years native americans have been treated as second class citizens. They have been massacred, driven from their homes and forced into reservations where the standard of living is deplorable. Even when equal rights were passed for African americans and hispanics they are still treated poorly. Thiers children are taken from their homes, they are shot at when they have peaceful protests and the great majority of them are given less food and water than the rest of the country does. Is this how a nation that prides itself of freedom and equality should act? I don't think so and neither should any one else. I hope you will sign this petition and help ask congress to restore this once great people their rights. Thank you,
