Give Love To Laurel's Lots!

Dear supporter of Laurel High School,

We, the Student Government Association, want to inform you of our campaign to get the Laurel High School parking lot repaved: Give Love to Laurel’s Lots!
Prince George’s County, home to over twenty high schools, is responsible for the maintenance and funding of each school. And while many schools are new and state of the art, the county’s solution to our parking lot over the past few decades has been to provide patches during the fall which generally wear away by spring.
Our student parking lot is old and has sustained lots of wear and tear. There are many road hazards that seriously damage cars. Parents, students, and visitors complain about the conditions. Students, for example, often park illegally in the teacher lot to avoid not only potholes but also costly car maintenance. While our parking lot is well-known around the county for its horrible condition, we would much rather be known for our student achievement and talent.
After so many complaints from students and parents about the parking lot and unsafe parking, we decided to set up a campaign called Give Love to Laurel’s Lots in order to improve the parking lot. Please join us as we petition our county to repave our student parking lot.
