This is a gross violation of a woman;s right to recover before making a life altering decision. It is not only unprofessional but unethical.
My daughter had a full term stillborn baby boy, he weighed 10 pounds and was perfect in every way, this was a complete shock to all of us, mostly to her, she was in shock and medicated when her doctor asked her if she still wanted to proceed with her tubal ligation, her reply was this : " I dont ever want to go through this again" I begged the doctor to wait a few weeks then talk to her about it again, she refused and went ahead with it. Within a few days my daughter regretted having it done, she said she would have liked to try for a rainbow baby one day. It hurts her everyday and she has little memory of that time. I feel this is wrong on so many levels, there would be no harm in waiting to do the procedure. When she signed the papers months before, it was under the assumption that she would have 2 healthy children, she now has 1 and wants a rainbow baby so badly. We must put a stop to this before it happens to other women. Please sign my petition for Noahs law. For those of you who aren't familliar with the term Rainbow Baby, This is what mothers who have lost a child call their next child.
WE MUST HAVE A STANDARD WAITING TIME IN PLACE BEFORE ANY PERMANENT BIRTH CONTROL PROCEDURE IS PERFORMED FOLLOWING A STILLBIRTH.
All procedures should be carried out when a person is of sound mind to understand the risks. This was clearly not the case. This Dr has a lot to answer for.
