As the principal, I am thrilled to be a part of the Edward L. Blackshear community, where family members are actively engaged in their child’s education, as well as an integral component of our school. I am honored and privileged to lead a dynamic community where teachers and staff cultivate an environment in which students achieve and believe in themselves and their school. We want to preserve the legacy of Edward L. Blackshear and its history. Blackshear is a monument in the heart of the Third Ward community and we are fighting hard to preserve and keep it right where it belongs. OUR VISION 2016 AND BEYOND
In collaboration with scholars, teachers, parents, community members, business partners, and HISD; Blackshear Elementary will be the school of choice in the city of Houston with a premiere Health and Science magnet program. Blackshear will consistently receive an accountability rating of “Met Standard” with Academic Achievements and Progress Distinctions in Reading, Writing, Math and Science. Blackshear Elementary entire staff will be sought after nationwide for their highly effective instructional practices and leadership skills.
